Optional Services
SuperSoil Liquid Aeration
Not many people aerate their lawns, because it’s a difficult, lengthy process that involves renting an aerating machine and results in something of a mess on your lawn. Now, we’ve found a natural, liquid aeration product that has been used on golf courses and sports fields, but is now available to us. One easy spray-on application is all it will take to help your lawn be healthier and stay greener. It could even reduce your watering time and save on your water bill!
Flea & Tick Control
Many customers with pets have us add this service 2-3 times during late spring and summer to help cut back on flea & tick problems.
Mole Control
We can offer a season-long Mole Control Program, which guarantees control of moles during the entire season. With this new service, we’ll set baits every time we see mole activity at the time of your regular treatment, and follow that up every 1-2 weeks until the mole activity ceases.
Turf Disease Control
Turf diseases are usually cased by different fungi, many of which, favor warm, humid, wet weather. We can also design a custom preventative fungicide program, where we will apply two fungicides during the time when turf disease is most likely to occur in your area.
Fire Ant Control
Fire ants are especially troublesome pests in many parts of the south. We can prevent fire ants with a granular application of Top Choice Insecticide, along with treating the existing mounds. Early spring and fall are ideal times to apply Top Choice Insecticide.
“Primo” Turf grass Regulator
With Primo, you should be able to keep up with mowing much easier, since the grass grows so much slower, while looking denser and greener also!
Weed-Control in Ornamental Beds
We can apply a special granular pre-emergent called Snapshot into your flower and shrub beds in early spring and early fall to help prevent many grassy and some broadleaf weeds from germinating. This will not control nut grass and other sedges however. During the summer, we also apply a special liquid product called Fusillade, which takes grassy weeds such as crabgrass and even bermuda grass out of beds. With a 3 or 4-step Bed Weed-Control Program, we can really decrease the amount of hand weeding necessary in keeping weeds out of your shrub beds. Proper mulch levels are also important in preventing weeds in beds.
Perimeter Pest Control
We can prevent many insect pests from entering your home with this important service. At the same time we do a regular lawn treatment, we can apply a band of both liquid and granular insecticide around the entire perimeter of your home. The liquid treatment is also sprayed up along the foundation, along door and window entrances, and other possible openings in your home. Although not perfect, if this treatment is done consistently, it will prevent many bugs from bugging you! Many customers will have us do this service 3-4 times during summer and into fall, when insects can be more of a problem.
Grub Control
Bermuda and St Augustine turf, especially, will benefit from a timely treatment of grub control, since they can severely damage the root system. Best time to apply grub control is mid-summer. Cost is same as a regular lawn treatment.
Soil pH Adjustment
If your soil is to low (acidic) lime needs to be applied. High pH soils (alkaline) need sulfur to bring the pH down. In most cases, several treatments during one or two seasons will be needed. In Collin county, an annual application of sulphur is needed for the soil.
Fall Tree & Shrub Fertilization
Your trees & shrubs represent a growing investment that is worth protecting. There are many insects & diseases that can attack and infest your landscape. All landscapes are different. We can offer customized programs to fit any property. Our program of scheduled inspections and treatments will keep your ornamentals healthy and in top growing condition. We recommend the following:
Merit/Dormant Oil
Applied during late winter/early spring to protect hollies, crepe myrtles, azaleas, oaks & junipers from over-wintering insects such as scale, aphids, and spider mites before they begin to hatch. Application includes a horticultural oil to smother insects/eggs and a systemic insecticide (Merit) to protect your trees & shrubs from insect infestation.
Spring Fertilizer
A granular or liquid application of fertilizer that promotes green color, also aids in bud formation and establishment of a vigorous root system. Azaleas receive special acidifying fertilizer. All trees & shrubs are inspected for disease or insects.
Early Summer Insect/Disease Control
Application reduces disease impact such as powdery mildew or other fungus. Also controls insect damage such as aphids, webworms, bagworms, bores and other sucking, chewing insects.
Fall Deep-Root Fertilizer/Feeding
Applied during the late fall period in October-November. A liquid nitrogen fertilizer is injected into the soil to all trees & shrubs. This treatment stimulates root growth and stores nutrients for winter to promote spring foliage growth. Treatment aids in preventing freeze damage provides a quick start to spring green-up.
Horticultural Oil
An end of the season treatment to control over wintering insects such as scale, aphids, spider mites and fungus disease.
